Diabolo & Storytelling… Poetry
Bruno is a dear friend of the festival—let’s say he visits us every 7 or 8 years. Not just a friend, but a remarkable artist and a wonderful person. Since 1999, he has been actively involved in the production, direction, and performance of street shows, combining various artistic languages aimed at a wide audience. Over the past 25 years, he has performed at more than 250 festivals in 21 countries.
He specializes in the circus discipline of the diabolo and in creating collective storytelling experiences centered around this object. His work fuses circus, music, physics, poetry, and narrative into a performance act aimed at celebrating the diversity of people who inhabit public spaces.
At the heart of all his creations lies art—as a generator of possibilities and a force for social transformation.
GUSHI: Stories with Diabolo
By and with Bruno Gagliardini
The diabolo is an ancient invention of Chinese origin. It was used even before the time of Christ to ward off evil spirits.
Brunitus draws on this mystical origin in his new show to create a journey—a journey through feelings.
The diabolos spin, fly, and weave together like stories.
“Gùshi” means “stories” in Chinese.
We breathe stories / stories are life, they are time / time is relative / relative to its story.
Gùshi is a circus fairytale.
A poetic and intense experience.
A show for the whole family, where the audience’s stories become shared emotions, the circus becomes a language, and the diabolos… an open book.
