Lambe Lambe Theatre: Miniature Puppet Theatre

Lambe-lambe theatre is a form of animated theatre that originated in Brazil in the 1980s, where the audience watches small stories individually inside miniature sets. Each performance is intimate and immersive, creating a unique bond between the work and the viewer.

"The Boy and the Ball" is a miniature theatre show that immerses us in the childhood of a young boy passionate about soccer. Inside a small magical box, the audience is invited to peek in, one at a time, at a delicate narration told through handcrafted miniature puppets, automatic mechanisms, and precise manipulation.

Regarding aesthetics and technique: it blends the lyricism of childhood with the ingenuity of miniature theatre. The story unfolds through:

  • Handcrafted miniature puppets
  • Automatons and mechanisms interacting with the scene
  • Direct and indirect manipulation to create movement and surprise
  • Soundtrack
