Doble Mandoble is a contemporary circus company supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Founded in 2007 by brothers Luis Javier and Miguel Ángel Córdoba, graduates of the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque (ESAC) in Brussels, it has established itself as one of the pioneering forces of new circus in Belgium.

In 2018, playwright and director Andrea Fidelio joined the collective, bringing a fresh artistic vision and enriching the group’s stage research. The synergy among the three artists gave rise to a series of innovative shows that have received significant international recognition: first prize at the FISM World Competition in 2012 (Blackpool, UK), Mandrake d’Or in 2014 (Paris, France), first prize at the FISM European Competition in 2021 (Manresa), second prize at the FISM World Competition 2022 (Québec, Canada).

The company blends circus, physical theatre, object manipulation, and digital arts to create a multidisciplinary language that sparks deep reflections on current social issues.

Each of their shows is designed to amaze, move, and leave an indelible mark on the audience.

“HERO FOR ONE DAY”

Who are today’s heroes? Would you be able to recognize them if you met them? This essential question immerses us in a performance where the boundary between reality and perception sometimes blurs. At the heart of the story, a couple undergoes a psychological and emotional investigation. Through their bodies and gestures, dance and acrobatics illustrate the invisible tensions, unconscious automatisms, and avoidance strategies governing their relationship. Their bodies become metaphors for a precarious balance, where every movement seems to reveal a hidden truth or a fear to confront. They drag you into a disturbing game where everything can change in an instant. The work highlights art as a generator of possibilities and as a force for social transformation.
