Storytelling · Unusual Instruments · Puppet Theatre
From street musician to storyteller — that’s how the journey of this company began back in 1984, born from the lucky encounter between Felice Pantone and Celina Scarlatti.
Their first show? An autobiographical piece titled: “How lucky you are… to have met us!” — a grotesque yet playful look at their lives, offering the audience a window into who they were and why they were there.
This marked the beginning of a new chapter where music became more than just accompaniment — it became a way to enrich and amplify emotions, stories, and actions, through song and performance.
Two years of travel followed, up and down Italy and across Europe, performing in fairs, festivals, pedestrian zones, and street theatre events. During this wandering life, Felice met Celina Scarlatti, a skilled puppeteer — and soon, life partner.
Their artistic path continued with a show combining live music, puppetry, and shadow theatre — specially created for children in preschools and elementary schools. The puppets starred in a hilarious ecological farce, while the storyteller stayed outside the puppet booth, linking scenes with songs and live performance.
In 1987–89, when Circo Bidon was seeking musicians… they joined. Two unforgettable years where time was measured to the rhythm of horses — an experience that inspired a whole new approach to their street shows.
With this background and growing on-field experience, Felice & Celina Cantastorie was officially born — bringing them to Santa Sofia for the first time in distant 1992.
Their work blends music, puppet theatre, and oral storytelling into a format that’s agile, highly original, and deeply appreciated by audiences of all ages. The language and the stories speak directly to the heart, creating a container where new tales are continually told through various techniques.
And that… is where we pause the story.
STORIE DA FIERA
by & with: Felice Pantone, Musician and Showman & Celina Scarlatti, Puppeteer
The ancient art of storytelling brought to life.
Felice has taken on an apprentice — a young helper, distracted, full of ideas and dreams. But as often happens… “you come to teach, and end up learning.”
This show is a patchwork of delightful moments, especially designed for children aged 4 to 12 — but truly engaging for all ages.
Stories, songs, rhymes, and original tales pull the audience in — with unique musical moments such as the barrel organ (mechanical music) or the magical voice of a musical saw.
If you're curious, don’t wait — invite us to your city for a theatre festival, street arts event, or village fair.
